Our Favorites: Catholic Picture Book Collection

 

If you have been here before, you might know that every month, our family adds a Catholic picture book to our home library. We do this for a few reasons, the main one being that our library system does not carry many of the fabulous Catholic picture books that are out there. Second, we like to revisit our favorites, so we enjoy having our own collection.

Collecting Catholic picture books has become my passion, and I look forward to one day passing these books along to my children (with the hope that they will find a way to share them). Reading aloud beautifully written and illustrated picture books helps our children learn about the Faith in a gentle and relaxed way. Outside of celebrating the Sacraments together, reading together is my favorite way to teach my children about God and His Church. 

The list below includes our top 20 current favorites. I'm sure with all the great books out there to explore, we will have more lists to come in the future! These books are the ones that came to us highly recommended, and we have enjoyed reading them together during our Sunday read-alouds. You can download a free printable of this list here.
